Bread Ingredients Wine Tasting

If you're anything like most of our great customers, you want to know just what goes into these delicious meals you eat... and for once, you've found a bunch of folks that are happy to show and tell! So, let us spin a little tale of taste for you, and we'll start with our bread-- made fresh here every morning before the cafe opens for business.
Bread-- We use no additives in our bread and are proud to say that it is fully qualified as "organic" in a variety of types: wholegrain, rye, soda, white, malted grain, and sunflower, as well as special loaves like Olive, Walnut and Cheese, and Basil with Sundried Tomato. Our rye bread is 100% wheat- and gluten-free, and our soda breads are 100% yeast- and dairy-free.
Our bread chef, Chris Delmarin, attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City where she completed the Bread Baking Curriculum earning the Le Diplôme du Boulanger. Eventually she returned home to eastern Pennsylvania, much to our delight. She possesses incredible skills where hand-formed artisan breads are concerned, and once you taste some of these gorgeous loaves, you'll have to agree they are among the best in the region.

Fresh Ingredients-- Every dish you eat at The GrapeVine Cafe is prepared with only the finest fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses and fruits. We grow many of our own spices and herbs a few miles away in leased greenhouse space. For the things we can't grow ourselves, we make the effort to procure the best in quality and availability on any given day.
Does it sometimes affect the menu? Sure it does, but who said a menu has to be inflexible? We indicate clearly which dishes may be subject to availability, but look at it this way-- could you cook this meal at home if you couldn't find the ingredients? We bet the answer is "No." Well, the same rules apply for us. If we can't find it fresh, we can't make it.
We don't deal in pre-packaged or processed products, and we insist on organic supplies as often as we can get them. Even our dairy products are carefully selected from trusted suppliers. This is food as it ought to be; where the only secret ingredient in your meal is the magic in the cooking of it.

Wine Tasting-- Once a month, on the third Thursday at 6:00 PM, we host a Wine Tasting Dinner. If you've ever been curious about how wines are paired with food types, or wanted to ask questions about a certain wine grape or fermenting method, plan on reserving a spot at one of The GrapeVine Cafe's Wine Tasting Dinners.
As often as possible, we invite a local or regional winery to bring along samples of their finest vintages and working together, we plan a meal that compliments the wines exquisitely. Other Wine Tasting Dinners feature a theme, such as wines of a specific variety, or wines from a particular place, like New Zealand or Argentina. For each dinner, a customized menu is created to compliment the wines.
The evening is hosted by a knowledgeable winery representative who will talk about the wines selected for the meal and provide diners with the opportunity to discover a bit about the making of wine. This is a premium opportunity for the wineries and for all you wine lovers out there to discover each other!
